Akureyri Junior College (MA) is among
Iceland's oldest and best-known educational establishments. It has secure
foundation in tradition and is at the same time a modern school, undergoing
constant development.
The chief aim of the school is to
prepare students for university study in a democratic society and help every
student towards a higher level of maturity. This is what the school has been
attempting to achieve throughout its long period of operation and surveys have
indicated that graduates from the school have generally been successful in
their academic study. MA has an annual student population of about 650, with
approximately 120-150 students graduating on Iceland's National Day, 17th June,
every year. |
